How do I set the JAVA_HOME location for CAS in Version 9.0:

Problem

In the v9 Help manual in the middle of the page 430 it is explained that you should locate the file /conf/wrapper.conf and modify the parameter wrapper.java.command=. On version 9.0 this file does not exist and the process is different.

Symptom

The <cas_installation_directory>/conf/wrapper.conf does not exist when using Guardium v9 so JAVA_HOME cannot be configured.

Cause

The procedure for setting JAVA_HOME is different for v9.

Resolving The Problem

In v9 the option is now controlled with the "CASJAVA" setting inside the

<cas_installation_directory>/bin/casclient_start.sh

The line looks like this:


    CASJAVA=/opt/jre1.6u17/bin/java


Simply change the "/opt/jre1.6u17/bin/java" directory to the correct location of your Java installation.
