Question
I want my STAP to be disabled on the next server reboot , what should I do ?
Answer
You can follow the below steps which should remove the STAP from the startup entry for the respective OS types.
Windows:
- Open Services
- look for the following services
- Right click on each of the above service, go to "properties" and make start up type as "manual" instead of "automatic".
- Go to computer management --> Services and Applications--> Services
GUARDIUM Database Monitor
GUARDIUM DC Connector
GUARDIUM_STAP
Linux:
- Connect with root user
- Run the following command
- Run the following command
- chkconfig --list
- You will see an upguard service in the list.
chkconfig --del upguard
- This will remove STAP service from startup list.
Other Unix :
- Open the following inittab file for edit ...
- If a GIM managed STAP :-
- If a non GIM installed STAP was installed :-
- Run the following command to effect the change
/etc/inittab
- Comment the gsvr and gim lines with the comment character ':' (colon) or '#' (hash) depending on unix type and save the file
- Comment the utap line with the comment character ':' (colon) or '#' (hash) depending on unix type and save the file
- init q
