Question & Answer
Question
Can you set up a IBM Rational DOORS module for Shareable Edit and also have the Object Heading/Object Text set so that the user has only read access to them but write access to all other attributes.
Answer
The following steps can be taken to control access permission for attribute(s). For example, Object Headings and Object Text.
- Ensure you don't have module setup for Sharing
You can remove sections from Shareable Edit mode. You can follow steps mentioned in the Technote 1405758 - Navigate to Edit -> Attributes
- Select Object Headings and click Edit
- Change the tab to "Access (Value)"
- Uncheck "Inherit from parent"
- Add user and assign Read Only access
Do the same for Object Text attribute.
Go to a Formal Module and Setup a module for edit shareable mode.
You will notice the Object Heading and Object Text attribute values are set to Read Only while other attributes value become editable.
