How do you configure Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 as development environment for IBM Rational SDL Suite?

You would like to generate code and compile a Rational SDL model setting Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 as development environment.
Answer
In order to configure Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 as development environment for Rational SDL suite apply the steps below:
- Navigate to the Control Panel on the Windows operating system
- Double click System, select Advanced and open Environment Variable
- Locate the Path variable in System variables and append to it the complete path of the Visual Studio 2008 installation directory as shown:
Once done, you would need to modify the Rational SDL Suite shortcut target to execute the vcvars32.bat file along with the SDL Suite executable sdt.exe. Apply the steps below for the same:
1. Right-click the IBM Rational SDL Suite shortcut icon and select Properties
2. Go to Shortcut and locate the Target
3. Enter the path to vcvars32.bat file in precedence to the SDL Suite executable sdt.exe in the following manner:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\bin\vcvars32.bat" && "C:\IBM\Rational\SDL_TTCN_Suite6.3\bin\wini386\sdt.exe"
