How to change the Oracle JDBC Driver on Unix
Answer
For example, to change the JDBC Driver to 11.x.x.x
- Download the file from oracle
- Stop GIS
- navigate to ../SI/jdk/jre/lib/ext
- take a backup copy of this file - ojdbc6.jar
- copy the driver downloaded from Oracle to a temporary directory (for example /updateoracledriver)
- edit the dynamicclasspath.cfg.in file and comment the lines (with #) that refer to the old ojdbc drivers
- in a shell start /SI/bin/Install3rdparty.sh oracle 11.1.0.7 -d /updateoracledriver/ojdbc6.jar
- in a shell start /SI/bin/deployer.sh
- in a shell start /SI/bin/setupfiles.sh
- start SI
- Start /si/bin/dump_info.sh > dump_info.txt and verify the version has been updated
