How to change my email address in Blueworks Live?

How To

Summary

Blueworks Live identifies users by their email address.

When your email changes, you must update
1. User settings in Blueworks Live
2. If you authenticate with SSO or IBMid: Email address returned by your Identity Provider (IDp).

Steps

Log in to Blueworks Live with your old email address. In "your name" > My User Settings > Account Settings, click "change email address".

You receive a "Blueworks Live Email Change Request" mail and need to validate your new address.
For security reasons, this link expires 24 hours from the time it was sent.
If Blueworks Live receives the email from the external identity provider (SSO or IBMid authentication), then this IdP must also be updated.
  • SSO: To change email in your corporate IdP, contact your corporate IT Help Desk.
  • IBMid: Open a ticket with IBMid Helpdesk to get your IBMid updated with the new email address. Usually, both emails in IBMid profile need to be updated and in sync.
Troubleshooting:
If you cannot log in to Blueworks Live anymore, contact your account admin.
Account administrators can change email addresses for the users in their account:

In "Admin" > User Management, click the user and update user settings. The user receives a "Blueworks Live Email Change Request" mail and needs to validate the new address within 24 hours from the time it was sent.

As a last resort, IBM Blueworks Live Support can help you to find your account administrator or change your email address. Again, you receive a "Blueworks Live Email Change Request" mail and must validate your new address within 24 hours from the time it was sent.
