How to change / modify IP address or host name of the Guardium appliance in the GIM Client configuration by editing conf file at Windows Server ?
Answer
The IP address or hostname can be changed directly from the Guardium GUI without needing access to the database server.
This is done by updating the GIM parameter GIM_URL from setup by client.
In case it is not possible to change from the GUI, the following steps can be used.
How to change Guardium Appliance IP address or host name in the GIM Client configuration on Windows Server.
1. Log on to the Windows server.
2. Stop the "IBM Security Guardium Installation Manager" service on Windows server.
2. Go to the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Guardium\Guardium Installation Manager\GIM\Current\
3. Edit the file name - "conf".
4. Change the GIM _URL parameter value and put correct Guardium Appliance IP address or host name (Central Manager or Manage Unit).
