Troubleshooting
Problem
This technote offers a workaround to the message: "The Project name already exist. Please enter a different name", that can occur when using the IBM® Rational® Administrator. It might be desirable to ignore the message and carry on with the creation although the Project's name is already in use.
Resolving The Problem
Although not recommended, one may need to create a Project with a name that is already in Rational Administrator's most recently-used-names list. This may be a needed when a Project has to be moved, and a naming convention be respected. This is because the recommended way to move a Project is to create a new one in the destination, and to initialize it with the source data.
Therefore, the information on the most recent used project names list is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rational Software\Rational Administrator\ProjectList\Data List
It is a REG_MULTI_SZ registry key. Right click and modify it by deleting the entry corresponding to the conflicting Project.
