How to apply database scripts using RunScriptFile

Question & Answer

Question

Can upgrade and UpdateDB scripts be applied individually?

Cause

If a database script fails, upon correcting the cause of failure, the script can be run it is manually. Also, use this method to run a custom script.

Answer

In Windows, open an Administrative command window. Change directory to <maximo_root>\tools\maximo\internal:

runscriptfile.bat -f<script> [-c<subdirectory]

For example
runscriptfile.bat -ftest

Notes
Do not specify the file extension on the runscriptfile command.

By default RunScriptFile looks the tools\maximo\en\script directory for the script. If you supply a -c argument, it looks in the specified directory; that is, the command runscriptfile -ftest -clinear runs the script named test, found in folder tools\maximo\en\linear.

File Extension Database platform
.db2 Db2 Database
.ora Oracle database
.sqs Microsoft SQL Server database
.sql Any supported database platform
Runscript output logs are in the RUNSCRIPT log file in folder <maximo_root>\tools\maximo\log.
