How to analyze and fix DN skipped resources in V7.X

Summary

Users running IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next (DN) versions 7.0, 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 can encounter skipped resources for the IBM Lifecycle Query Engine (LQE) "TRS 2.0 for DNG Resources" Data source. This technote helps in identifying and resolving these skipped resources.

Objective

Skipped resources can occur when DN data is not included in the LQE index, possible causes are transitory issues at the DN application level, type system issues or failed ReqIF imports.

Skipped resources can result in missing artifacts or types in the Datasource, which can lead to incomplete data for reporting.

The LQE pools the Datasources every 60 seconds (Default setting) and from this page you can see whether there are any skipped resources.

Steps

Step 1:
First retry the skipped resources in the LQE
  1. Navigate to the Datasources page:  https://<ServerName>/lqe/web/admin/data-sources
  2. Select "Up-to-date" -> Skipped Resources tab where the option to "Try Again" can be selected.
  3. Depending on the amount of Skipped resources, the retry can take some time to complete.
  4. The Datasource shows as “Up to date” when complete.

Step 2:
If skipped resources still exist after a retry, there are known issues covered here: Known Issues
Step 3:
Gather the following information and raise a case with IBM Support:
1) Navigate to the TRS Feed Diagnostics: https://<ServerName>/rm/admin#action=com.ibm.rdm.fronting.server.web.skippedResources and provide a screen print.

2) Select the export data tab or go directly to this link: https://<ServerName>/rm/admin#action=com.ibm.rdm.fronting.server.web.exportSkippedResourcesData.
3) Select export and download.

4) From the LQE Datasource page, select "Download The List" to get the most recent copy of the ds-status file, which contains the skipped resources.

5) Gather RM logs with the IBM Support Assistant Data Collector or at least provide the following:
  • rm.logs
  • rmVDI.logs
  • rmTRS.logs
  • rmEXT.logs.
