Abstract

HIPER (Doc Number=6959): High Impact / Highly Pervasive APAR IJ30848

Content

IJ30848 - plain2crypt or crypt2plain on an active logical volume can cause potential undetected data corruption

Using the hdcrypt actions "plain2crypt" or "crypt2plain" to convert a logical volume (LV) to encrypted or decrypted while I/O is in progress to the LV can cause potential undetected data corruption of the blocks being written to disk and reads coming back during the conversion.

Also, at oslevel 7200-05-02-2113, creating, mounting, or using a filesystem on an encrypted LV may cause a system crash.
