Troubleshooting
Problem
Upgraded Cognos Analytics 11.0.x with a later release of Cognos Analytics 11.0.x by installing over top of the previous installation. When in the Cognos portal the Help > About dialog is incorrectly showing the version for the previous Cognos Analytics release .
Resolving The Problem
1. First verify the following file contains the correct Cognos Analytics 11 release information. If incorrect, backup the file and edit it with the correct version and restart Cognos Analytics.
File:
<ca_install>/configuration/metadata/metadata_glass.xml
Entry:
<parameter name="productVersion" type="string" default="11.0.12"/>
2. If the Help > About dialog still shows incorrect version check the following file entry for its version information:
File:
<ca11_install>\configuration\data\flipper\config\global\configuration3.properties
Entry:
Glass.productVersion=11.0.12
If this entry has the previous Cognos Analytics release version, Stop the Cognos services, backup the <ca11_install>\configuration\data\flipper folder, delete it, and restart the Cognos services.
In a multi-server environment, first perform this task on the Group Contact Host, which should be the Primary Content Manager, then on subsequent backup Content managers, Dispatchers and gateways.
