-genUniquePorts is Not Supported for Middleware Server Creation Admin Tasks

Troubleshooting


Problem

Middleware server creation administrative tasks do not support the parameter '-genUniquePorts' , which is listed in the help of these commands.

Symptom

When running middleware server creation administrative tasks the generated HTTP port for the server is by default 9080, and the generated HTTPS port is 9443, regardless of the '-genUniquePorts' setting.

The –genUniquePort parameter is not supported for the following commands:
createTomCatServer
createWebLogicServer
createJBossServer
createLibertyServer
createForeignServer
createWasCEServer
createExtWasAppServer

Resolving The Problem

The user should manually edit the server config file , ‘server.xml’ for setting user defined ports after the server is created .
