The prior generation of the Full System Flashcopy Toolkit was also called V1 and culminated with version 7.70.
- 7.70 was withdrawn from sale in early 2018 and replaced with version 4.3
- No new development is being added to version 7.70
- The last release that 7.70 was tested on wa\s IBM i 7.3.
- We still offer defect support for 7.70 but strongly suggest customers upgrade to at least 4.3.
- Customers who have licenses to 7.70 are entitled to 4.3 licenses at no additional cost.
- Customers with maintenance agreements are entitled to the 4.3 software.
- 4.3 requires PowerHA Standard Edition on the controlling LPAR
- There is no upgrade path from 7.70 to 4.3 - it is a completely new installation which is a billable service (and can be performed remotely)
- Both 7.70 and 4.3 can exist and operate simultaneously on the same controlling and production LPARs
