APARs fixed in IBM Content Navigator, Version 2.0.3

APARDescription
IO18192The export count does not match the count in the status field.

With this fix, the correct export count is displayed in the export dialog.
IO18403When you create a search that uses a Between operator and you leave the data values blank, an error occurs when you open the saved search.

With this fix, you can create a search that uses a Between operator that has blank date values.
IO18624(IBM Content Analytics plug-in users) When SSO is enabled for all sources, the user is not able to access the content.

With this fix, the user's identity is sent correctly and the user is able to get the content.
IO18710(IBM Content Manager) When you download multiple content files from multiple documents, the content file names in the .zip file contain file paths, and there are issues with the .zip file structure.

With this fix, only the original file name of the item part is used when creating the .zip file.
IO18948(IBM FileNet P8 External Data Service users) When writing an EDS service, the response always returns the item objectId as null. This response limits the ability of the EDS plug-in to determine how to interact with the item.

With this fix, the correct objectId is returned in the response.
IO19036(IBM FileNet P8) Some searches that were created in FileNet Workplace XT do not work in IBM Content Navigator. For example, if the search contains multiple classes, the search cannot be opened if the search contains a property that is not in the first class in the search.

With this fix, the FileNet Workplace XT search opens in IBM Content Navigator.
IO19210(IBM Content Navigator users) Users cannot return to the list of teamspaces when they click Open Teamspace View from within a teamspace.

With this fix, users can return to the list of teamspaces.
IO19278(IBM Content Manager Applet Viewer users) With PDF documents containing watermarks, the watermark is either not displayed or, when displayed, it is not transparent.

With this fix, the display of watermarks is improved.
IO19287(IBM Content Manager Applet Viewer users) Some PDFs files created from Wordperfect 12 that contain tables do not display the 1 in the year and the A character when viewed.

With this fix, the characters appear correctly.
IO19322(IBM Content Manager Applet Viewer users) When viewing some PDF documents containing tables, the column alignment is lost.

With this fix, the table column alignment is improved.
IO19424(IBM Content Manager) A type mismatch error is returned when searching against Date fields on Content Manager for z/OS.

With this fix, the problem is resolved.
IO19431Some read-only fields with dependent attributes trigger an EDS lookup when input focus passes through the field.

With this fix, the problem is resolved.
IO19448(External data services) The EDS plug-in does not return errors in the response handling.

With this fix, the error is passed back to the user.
IO19470(Internet Explorer 8 with Google Chrome Frame users) When "Download as Original" from Work items "Attachment" tab fails, an error is displayed that cannot be closed.

With this fix, the error message does not occur.
IO19499(IBM Content Manager OnDemand users) If you use IBM Content Navigator to access IBM Content Manager OnDemand, and the last search that was accessed in the previous session contains a slash (/) in the search name, the user sees an error after they log in to IBM Content Navigator.

With this fix, the search can open without an error when you log in to IBM Content Navigator.
IO19500(IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office users) If you add a document to your favorites in IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office, and then later that document is updated, so that the document version in your favorites is not the most current version, the ribbon bar reflects the state of the older version that was added to favorites, rather than showing the state of the current version.

This problem can prevent you from working with the document. For example, if you check out the document from favorites, Check In should be enabled, but it is disabled. Similarly, if you select a document from your favorites, and the version of the document is not the most current version, Properties displays the system properties of the older version of the document, rather than showing the system properties of the current version.

With this fix, when a document is added to your favorites in IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office, the ribbon bar shows the state of the current version, and Properties displays the system properties of the current version. These changes enable you to work with the document.
IO19510(IBM Content Navigator users) When a user repeatedly clicks the Step processor tabs, the tabs change background.

With this fix, the background is more consistent.
IO19516(IBM FileNet P8 External Data Service users) In a workflow that contains an integer field, when filtering on this field using a choice list from EDS, a class cast exception is displayed in the in-basket.

With this fix, the integer value is handled generically so the problem is resolved.
IO19527(IBM Content Navigator users) If you open a search from a link, the search page is displayed as expected. However, if you then log out, a blank page is displayed instead of the login page. You must refresh the page to see the login page again.

With this fix, the login page is displayed when you log out.
IO19534(IBM FileNet P8 users) If teamspaces are not enabled on the authenticating repository for a desktop, when a user logs in to the desktop, an error is entered in the log.

With this fix, no error is logged if teamspaces are not enabled.
IO19543(IBM Content Manager Applet Viewer users) Users cannot preview Adobe Livecycle pdf generator es3 generated PDFs.

With this fix, the handling of these documents is improved.
IO19605(IBM Content Manager Applet Viewer users) When displaying PDF with graphics compositions, some documents do not render correctly.

With this fix, the graphic compositions rendering is improved.

With this fix, the searching of text within a pdf document is improved.
IO19615(IBM Content Navigator users) Undisclosed security issue.

With this fix, the issue has been resolved.
IO19619(IBM FileNet P8 users) The following problem happens when the user attempts to open a link to a document that is using a FileNet P8 repository as a proxy and points to a document on another repository. From a Send Mail/As Link action on a Workflow Attachment tab (or any tab that exposes Send Mail/As Link), when the user clicks the link, a blank page is displayed with only the title banner.

With this fix, the behavior was changed to perform an Open action on an external document.
IO19620(IBM FileNet P8 users) When logging in to a Desktop through a FileNet P8 repository, if there is another repository configuration that is enabled for record management in the same domain and that login fails, then the login fails or the user has restricted privileges.

With this fix, the user succeeds and has the correct privileges for the repository that they logged in to.
IO19643(IBM Content Manager Applet Viewer users) With the viewer, the user is not able to search for text that is rotated in the image.

With this fix, the user can find the rotated text using a text search.
IO19655(IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office FileNet P8 users) When you log in to IBM Content Navigator by using Kerberos SSO, you receive the following message when you try to check out a document that is in a folder:
cast not valid

With this fix, the error no longer occurs.
IO19662(IBM Content Manager OnDemand users) When a desktop is configured with only an OnDemand repository, the user receives an error when attempting to browse.

With this fix, the Browse feature is not enabled when only an OnDemand repository is configured for the desktop.
IO19667(IBM Content Navigator users) If you configure debug logging for client host machines in IBM Content Navigator, the performance is degraded on some networks when the client host names are retrieved.

With this fix, you must enter the IP address of the client machine rather than the host name of the client machine, which improves the performance.

Remember: This fix introduces a configuration option that is not documented or reflected in the administration tool interface. When you configure debug logging settings and select Client host machines (IP addresses), you must enter the IP address of the client machine rather than the host name of the client machine.
IO19676 (IBM FileNet P8 users) In some WebSphere® Application Server configurations, IBM Content Navigator does not use the correct user name to determine whether the user has access to the administration tool. When this occurs for an IBM Content Navigator administrator, the administrator cannot access the administration tool in the web client.

With this fix, the user name principal is parsed correctly.
IO19680(IBM Content Manager users) When an attribute is set to read-only in a subitemtype (view) the setting is ignored. It is still possible to change the "read-only" value.

With this fix, the attribute is set to read-only.
IO19685(IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office EDS users) When single value properties are set as a dependent, the dependent property and their dependents are cleared before transmittal to the EDS servlet. As a result, the EDS servlet cannot deal with them, nor can the document be added to the repository since the required properties are not completed.

With this fix, the read-only properties are handled correctly.
IO19691(IBM Content Manager users) If you add a document to an item type view, the Add Document action fails if the item type view includes a child component.

With this fix, this problem is resolved.
IO19697(IBM FileNet P8 users) If you save an annotation in the IBM FileNet Image Viewer, and then making modifications to that annotation within the same viewer window, the updates are not saved.

With this fix, the annotations are saved.
IO19706(IBM FileNet P8 users) Within an item type definition, IBM Content Manager supports requiring a unique value for an attribute across all documents in an item type. Under FileNet P8, the multi-valued attribute setting requires that each of the values that are assigned to the attributes within a particular document be unique. FileNet P8 does not support requiring unique values for an attribute across documents in that class.

With this fix, the FileNet P8 attribute unique values are handled properly.
IO19783(IBM FileNet P8 users) When you create or edit a saved search in IBM Content Navigator, IBM Content Navigator stores the symbolic name of the repository rather than the repository ID.

With this fix, the repository ID is stored within the FileNet P8 search template.
IO19793(External Data Service users) In work item properties, fields with an EDS choice lists, the user has to click twice before seeing the dependent choice list.

With this fix, users can annotate IBM FileNet Image Services federated documents.
IO19868(IBM Content Navigator users) Undisclosed security issue.

With this fix, the issue has been resolved.
IO19869(IBM FileNet P8 users) When the document class has a hidden security proxy property, the add document would fail with a permission exception because the user inherited some added permissions to the document.

With this fix, the user has only the permissions that were granted.
IO19881(IBM Content Navigator users) When a user downloads a file, IBM Content Navigator appends .dat to the file name if it does not recognize the MIME type of the file.

IO21487(IBM Content Navigator users) When the OutsideIn exporter process runs, the process sometimes does not complete, which causes the process to remain open and consume system resources. The exporter process is used to process Microsoft Office document content for preview, thumbnail, and download as PDF actions.

With this fix, an end-of-session asynch process cleanup runs that stops the hung processes upon user session termination. The processes are also stopped after a configurable timeout, and added to an in-memory block list until system restart. There is also a configurable limit to the number of exporter processes that can be run at the same time on the system. The doNotRepeat setting prevents a timed out conversion from repeating if it is on the block list.

These settings are stored in the DocServices.properties configuration file. The defaults:
  • ENGINE3_OIEXPORT_TIMEOUT=120000
  • ENGINE3_OIEXPORT_PROCLIMIT=12
  • doNotRepeat=true
Either of the first two can be set to 0, to disable that respective feature. For doNotRepeat, set it to false to disable the feature.
  • HTMLMaxCache=5

  • Per-user-session Preview/HTML Conversion viewer cache limit. This setting allows the configured number of HTML conversions to be cached per user session which results in much faster load times for those documents when the document is reselected. Once the limit is hit, the application will delete the resources above the limit based on the last accessed timestamp.
Raising the limit may resolve some issues with multi-select/preview of large documents, but the higher setting will also increase the amount of server temporary file space held per user session, until the user logs out or the session times out.

Note: To modify the features, copy the file DocServices.properties from /navigator.war/WEB-INF/classes/com/ibm/ecm/beans/viewer and place the copy in the following directory:
    • On Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\ECMClient\configure\explodedformat\navigator
    • On Unix: /opt/IBM/ECMClient/configure/explodedformat/navigator

    • Then modify the copy.

The copy in the /IBM/ECMClient/configure/explodedformat/navigator directory is not overwritten during the installation of future updates.
