Resolving The Problem
In IBM i Access for Windows PC5250, File - Run Other functions differently than the same function in IBM i Access Client Solutions.
In PC5250, File - Run Other does a search for other .ws type files.
For example, if you have two sessions in your current directory (RCHASK50.ws and RCHASK60.ws), when you start typing RCHASK, you will see there is an expansion of the file name field that shows the results of the files that match what is currently typed in. Both files will be shown as they currently match the search criteria. In contrast, in IBM i Client Solutions, you must specify what other system you want to connect to. The File Open dialogs which are used by ACS HOD are part of the JDK native implementation for the operating system. IBM does not have control of that code, nor does IBM have access or methods to change the behavior being discussed.
