Facing session timeout issues in Control Center

Troubleshooting

Problem

The client is running a cluster environment containing 2 EPs. When the user tries to log in on the web console it is immediately logged out. The behavior is the same on both EPs.

Symptom

Can not stay logged into Control Center, after 1-2 seconds user gets logged out automatically.

Cause

EPS were installed in a cluster environment on AWS.
A re-login request was being sent to another EP's port which was causing the logout.
They later confirmed using AWS ALB in current configuration. Determined that sticky sessions were not enabled.

Environment

AWS

Diagnosing The Problem

Review browser log-in using F12 to trace network and see errors.
Using developer tools in the browser, it was observed that after login, a re-login request is being sent to the port of the other EP.

Customer was using load balancer in their setup. Verify whether sticky sessions are enabled or not.

Resolving The Problem

Must enable sticky sessions in AWS ALB configuration.  Sticky sessions are a mechanism to route client traffic to the same target in a target group under load balancing.
