Problem
Running reports in Excel format displays a "404 File directory not found” error.
Resolving The Problem
Steps:
1. Open Cognos Analytics in a browser and click on 'Manage' -> 'Administration console'.
2. Select the "Configuration" tab.
3. Click on "Dispatchers and Services".
4. Click on the dispatcher link eg: "http://aix_machine:9000/p2pd".
5. Scroll down to "ReportService".
6. Click on the icon "Set Properties - ReportService".
7. Select the "Settings" tab .
8. Click on the link "Edit" for "Environment / Advanced settings".
9 On the "Set advanced settings - ReportService" screen, add the following advanced properties and save the changes:
RSVP.CACHE_DOCUMENT_OUTPUT = false
10. Repeat steps 1-9 for every active dispatcher.
11. Wait about a minute, log out and then log back in again to test the change in Query Studio.
