Export object history in Rational DOORS does not include link details

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to export history to a file in IBM Rational DOORS, using the option "Include details", results in the link module and target module information not included in the details.

Symptom

The history panel section "Details of a selected history record" shows link information but when you export the history with the option to include details, the link and target module information is not exported.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the Rational DOORS module

  2. Right Click an object with links

  3. Click Properties...

  4. Click History tab

  5. Select a history record that shows creation, or deletion, of a link

  6. Click Export

    Specify the file name



  7. Check Include details

  8. Click OK



  9. Click OK

The output file shows information about the link creation, or destruction, but the link module and target module information is missing.

Cause

Not all the details of a selected history record are included when you export Rational DOORS history

Resolving The Problem

You can output the object history information by running the attached DXL script, then copy and paste the output to a text file.

Steps to output link information:

  1. Click Tools > Edit DXL

  2. Click Load

  3. Select the Script

  4. Click Open

  5. Click Run

    The history records will display in DXL Output



  6. Copy and paste the DXL Output to a text file

  7. Click Close
