Troubleshooting
Problem
When installing IBM Rational RequisitePro version 7.1 or IBM Rational SoDa v7.0.3 using IBM Installation Manager, the installation fails at some point with MSIexec errors.
Symptom
In the Installation Manager log, you find the following errors:
Error installing.
Error executing "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe" operation (status=1603)And in the MSI log you see the following error:
Error 1606.Could not access network location \Favorites\Cause
This issue may occur if there is an incorrect setting in one of the following registry subkeys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Resolving The Problem
Fix the problem registry sub key mentioned in the MSI log ("Favorites" in this example ) as described in Microsoft knowledge base article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886549
The MSI log can be found in the temp folder.
The temp folder can be found by typing %temp% in the location field of you Windows Explorer or a command prompt. The MSI log file starts with 'MSI' and has ".log" as the extension.
