Edge Components Caching Proxy Version 8.0 might not install on Solaris

Troubleshooting

Problem

Caching Proxy Version 8.0.0.0 might not install correctly on some Solaris systems, because the installation process for GSKIT did not complete successfully during Caching Proxy's post-installation configuration.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this problem, install Caching Proxy Version 8.0.0.2 from the live repository or a local repository.

  • Install from the live repository. Configure Installation Manager to connect to the following repository to install the product:
    http://www.ibm.com/software/repositorymanager/com.ibm.websphere.EDGECP…
  • Install from a local repository:
    1. Obtain a local copy of Caching Proxy Version 8.0.0.0. You must have the version of the product that was originally released on media or procured through the IBM Packaging Utility.
    2. Obtain a local copy of Caching Proxy Version 8.0.0.2. You can download this through Fix Central for the product.
    3. Configure Installation Manager to connect to your local repositories for both Version 8.0.0.0 and Version 8.0.0.2 of the product.
    4. Start the installation process, and select Version 8.0.0.2.
