During IBM Maximo Application Suite - Assist application upgrade, is any data lost?

Answer

Upgrade from IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.6 (Assist 8.3) to IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.7 (Assist 8.4) is not supported.
If you start using Assist application, then we suggest upgrading IBM Maximo Application Suite core to IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.7 and install Assist 8.4 directly.
From IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.6 to IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.7, IBM Cloud Pak 4 Data had significant changes with the architecture.
It moved from IBM Cloud Pak 4 Data 3.5 to IBM Cloud Pak 4 Data 4.0 Watson Discovery (on top of IBM Cloud Pak 4 Data) is not supported to upgrade from 3.5 to 4.0 directly. You need to back up the discovery data manually, and then upgrade install BM Cloud Pak 4 Data from 3.5 to 4.0.
After the upgrade, install Watson Discovery 4.0 on IBM Cloud Pak 4 Data4.0 and restore discovery data.
Assist does not delete the document or collection in the IBM Cloud Pak 4 Data -  Watson Discovery side during uninstall or install.
Documents are not managed by Assist after reinstall.
