Downloading IBM MQ 9.4 LTS

The latest IBM MQ 9.4.0 LTS maintenance release is IBM MQ 9.4.0.5 (Fix Pack).

Downloading the LTS release for Multiplatforms

Download the latest IBM MQ 9.4.0 LTS base install image from Passport Advantage

Note:

• From IBM MQ 9.4, on Windows and Linux platforms, fix packs and CSUs are full install images that can be used for a new installation or upgrading an existing installation. So you no longer need to download and install the release before applying the fix pack or CSU.
• On AIX and IBM i the CSU and fix pack maintenance process is unchanged, and you need to download and install the release, get the fix pack from Fix Central, and apply it to the installation.
• The z/OS maintenance process is also unchanged.

Provided your IBM ID is entitled, click a part number in the following table to download either the full base install eAssembly, or any of the eImages that make up the full base install. Alternatively, sign in to Passport Advantage then search for the part number you need.

Also available from Passport Advantage (subject to entitlement) is the IBM Aspera faspio Gateway (G05KXEN).

Note: Prior to 1Q 2023, non-install images for building your own IBM MQ container and deployment code were available from Passport Advantage. These images are now available on Fix Central. See Other useful links > Containers near the end of this document.

If you install IBM MQ eImages on AIX, you must use GNU tar (also known as gtar) to unpack any tar images.

Download the IBM MQ 9.4.0.5 Fix Pack from Fix Central

On Windows and Linux, download the fix pack and use it for a new installation or to upgrade an existing installation.

On AIX and IBM i, download the fix pack and use it to upgrade an existing installation. For a new installation, download the latest LTS base install image from Passport Advantage then apply the fix pack.

You are asked to register before you are presented with a set of downloadable files.

Downloading the LTS release for z/OS

Download the IBM MQ 9.4.0 LTS base install image and PTFs from Shopz

Sign in to Shopz. After you sign in, you have two options:

• Option 1: Order the features as a new product installation.
• Option 2: Apply PTFs to a previously installed release.

Each of the PIDs in the following list has a Long Term Support and Continuous Delivery orderable feature. Use these PIDs to order the features as a new product installation:

Development:

• The IBM MQ Mac Toolkit for Development allows the execution of IBM MQ commands (for example MQSC commands) on macOS devices (both ARM64 and x86-64). It also contains client libraries that facilitate the development of macOS client applications that are executed on macOS devices (both ARM64 and x86-64). The client is used in the Get started with IBM MQ tutorials.
• A pre-built IBM MQ Advanced for Developers container image is available from the IBM Container Registry. It runs on Linux/x86-64. Or you can build your own container image to run on ARM64 and x86-64 architectures.
