Abstract

This document describes how to download installation images for IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.13.x.

Download Description

IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.13 includes the following components and levels:

  • Data Protection for VMware 8.1.13
  • Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V 8.1.13

Packages on PTF distribution website

All IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.13.0 maintenance packages and the 8.1.13.x interim fixes can be accessed by using the PTF distribution website. The HTTPS link in the section "Download package" directs to the Fix Central online website.

However, these maintenance packages and interim fixes require an existing 8.1.x installation on the machine before you apply them because they do not contain the license enablement files that are required for use of the component. For initial installation of a IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments component on a machine or VM, you must obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement files, from the Passport Advantage Online website.

The IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.13.0 maintenance packages and the 8.1.13.x interim fixes can be accessed by using the Fix Central online website. The HTTPS link in the section "Download package" directs to the Fix Central online website.

  • Passport Advantage online website. Passport Advantage is a secure website that requires an account ID and password. It has all of the component and platform images associated with IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.13 available for download.

    You can locate images on the Passport Advantage Online website by using the part number as the search query. For example, to locate the IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware use as search query M03H3ML for Windows and use M03H4ML for Linux.

  • Fix Central online website. Fix Central is a secure website that requires you to log in using your IBM ID. Fix Central allows you to search, select, order, and download fixes to your system with a choice of delivery options. You can acquire an IBM ID for free at  Sign up to IBMid.
