Does importOrder API updates the status of sales order based on importing return orders?

The importOrder API is expected to import only orders that are fully processed. This information is available in the javadocs as well. We cannot import orders which are halfway through their life cycle in the legacy system and continue the processing in Sterling system.
The importOrder API does not have the logic for
automatically updating the status of sales order based upon the imported return
order. To meet such a requirement, you would need to use the changeOrder and/or
the changeOrderStatus APIs. More information on these APIs can be found in the
API javadocs.
