Installation and User's Guide: Page 1
Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V supports incremental forever full backup and incremental forever incremental backup of Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines in
VHDX disk format only. Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V does not support the incremental forever backup type of Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines in VHD disk
format.
The following sentence in the first paragraph under "Back up Hyper-V virtual machines" is
incomplete:

Documentation missing best practice information for Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V
Knowledge Center: Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V>Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines>Hyper-V backup support limitations
Installation and User's Guide: Page 6
Knowledge Center: Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V>Installing Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V>Determine system requirements
Installation and User's Guide: Page 7
The IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V 7.1.x documentation includes topics entitled: Hyper-V backup support limitations and Determine system requirements, which both exclude best practice information.
The Hyper-V backup support limitations topic excludes the paragraph "To backup virtual machines that exist on shared CSV storage across multiple Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V hosts, it is best practice to run backups on one host at a time. In such a configuration, this best practice helps to avoid "snapshot in progress" errors.
The Determine system requirements topic excludes the sentence "To ensure robustness and performance, it is also best practice to use a VSS hardware provider rather than a software provider.”
