Troubleshooting
Problem
When configured to use a floating license server, InfoSphere Data Architect v9.1.3 does not work in disconnected mode. Steps that lead to the problem 1. The license server is available to InfoSphere Data Architect v9.1.3. 2. Launch InfoSphere Data Architect v9.1.3. 3. Open any workspace. 4. Create a data design project. 5. Close InfoSphere Data Architect v9.1.3. 6. The floating license server is made unavailable (for e.g. stopping the floating license server). 7. Launch InfoSphere Data Architect v9.1.3 again and open any workspace.
Symptom
Once the workspace opens, a license check is made automatically by the product and comes back with a dialog box stating that the ‘license key cannot be found’. Please see the image below.
The user will not be able to use the product further.
Resolving The Problem
a. Please open the URL - http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/swg/selectFixes?parent=ibm~Information%2BManagement&product=ibm/Information+Management/Infosphere+Data+Architect&release=9.1.3.0&platform=All&function=all
b. Click and download the fixpack IDA913_SpecialPatch_v20160112_DisconnModIssue.
c. Login with your IBM id if prompted.
d. Unzip the file and follow the readme.txt to install the patch.
e. After installing the patch, please follow the steps listed above in abstract.
By now, the issue would be resolved and a popup should come up that informs that the product is in disconnected mode. Dates could vary.
The user will be able to continue to use the product in disconnected mode.
