Problem
This document includes instructions and steps required to successfully create a new Server Certificate and the assignment of applications within Heritage Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) for IBM i.
Resolving The Problem
NOTE: These instructions are using the Heritage Digital Certificate Manager (DCM). If you would like to use the updated Digital Certificate Manager for i GUI see the following documentation:
This document includes instructions and steps required to successfully create a new, self-signed server certificate and the steps to assign it to applications within Heritage Digital Certificate Manager (DCM).
You must be logged into DCM and already have a Local Certificate Authority (CA) created.
Note: To access DCM, open browser to http://<Name or IP of your system>:2001/QIBM/ICSS/Cert/Admin/qycucm1.ndm/main0.
1. Select *SYSTEM store and Continue to log in:
2. Select Work with Server and Client certificates in FastPath:
3. Select Create and then choose Local Certificate Authority and Continue:
4. Type the appropriate information in the required fields:
5. Check the applications that require this certificate. This may be SMTP, HTTP, and so on. Ensure you have selected the ones that need a server certificate:
6. Click Continue to ensure that your selection was saved. After these steps are completed, you may want to ask your technician if you are required to restart or recycle your application server or client (including your PC).
