Troubleshooting
Problem
All OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) based pattern deployment fails to complete the installation of OpenShift cluster.
Symptom
The impacted patterns are:
- OpenShift Container Platform pattern - GlusterFS V1.0.1.0
- OpenShift Container Platform with HA pattern - GlusterFS V1.0.1.0
- IBM Cloud Pak for Application Platform pattern V1.0.1.0
- IBM Cloud Pak for Cloud Integration Platform pattern V1.0.1.0
- IBM Cloud Pak for Digital Business Automation pattern V1.0.1.0
- IBM Cloud Pak for Multi Cloud Management pattern V1.0.1.0
These patterns are bundled with IBM Cloud Pak System V2.3.0.1. All these patterns were tested with openshift-ansible packages V3.11.104 and V3.10.127, and OpenShift docker images V3.11.104 and V3.10.127.
The deployment fails to complete when these patterns are deployed with the latest openshift-ansible packages (openshift-ansible-3.11.146 and latest) and OpenShift docker images (ose-ansible:v3.11.146 and latest).
The openshift-ansible.log file displays the following error message:
"msg": "The installed kernel version does not meet the required minimum for RHEL 7.6.\nPlease update the kernel before continuing.\nMinimum Kernel-Version: 3.10.0-957.27.2\nInstalled Kernel-Version: 3.10.0-957.21.3.el7.x86_64\nReference: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1749024\n"
