Datasource connection to Planning Analytics Server fails with error XTR-ERR-0007

Problem

Creating a Datasource connection in Cognos Analytics 11 to Planning Analytics Server failing with error XTR-ERR-0007

Symptom

Dynamic Query mode test fails with the below error (CQM mode is not supported)
XTR-ERR-0007 Failed to retrieve the resource '/api/v1/Configuration' from host 'xyz.com' Cause:'Connection reset'

Cause

Conflict in SSL parameter "UseSSL" in Planning Analytics tm1s.cfg file and the "Use SSL" option in Cognos Analytics Datasource

Environment

CA and PA single server installs on Windows with no SSL configured

Resolving The Problem

The UseSSL parameter in the tm1s.cfg file and the Use SSL parameter in the datasource configuration should be same.

Steps:

In Planning Analytics:

1. Uncomment the line #UseSSL=T in tm1s.cfg and change the value to F.

2. Restart TM1 server

In Cognos Analytics:

Create the Datasource connection with "Use SSL" not checked (NO SSL )

 

Note: Install the Planning Analytics API on the Cognos Analytics Server

The HTTPPortNumber parameter in the tm1s.cfg should match the port used while creating the datasource connection.

This port is used to identify the TM1 server
