Downloading the update

1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

Installing the update

1. Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files or Folders.
2. Type dxfer13.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the dxfer13.exe file you just downloaded.
3. Double-click the icon for dxfer13.exe.
4. Click Next.
5. Read the license agreement and if you agree, click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6. Click Next.
7. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\DXFER13.
8. Click Next.
9. If installing IBM data transfer on the computer you wish to transfer data from (source), click Previous computer. If installing IBM data transfer on the computer you wish to transfer data to (destination), click New computer.
10. Click Next. You will be asked "How would you like to install IBM Data Transfer Program on the new computer?"
11. Click I already have the IBM Data Transfer program installed, or I will download the program to the new computer. If you have set up an internet connection on your new computer, you can download the program from the IBM website.
12. Click Next. You will be asked to select a folder where Setup will install files.
13. Click Next. You will be asked to select a program folder.
14. Click Next. You will be told "The Wizard has successfully installed IBM Data Transfer. Click Finish to exit the wizard."
15. If you do not wish to run the IBM Data Transfer program immediately, remove the check mark from Start IBM Data Transfer now.
16. Click Finish.
