Troubleshooting
Problem
The following event is generated:
CWZIP1200E Unable to communicate with the virtual management software using IP address <IPv6>
Diagnosing The Problem
To find which compute node <IPv6> it belongs to, do these steps:
- Click Hardware > Compute nodes.
- Select the compute node.
- Click the Compute node information section.
IPv6 address and IPv4 address are displayed.
To check all open events for a compute node, do these steps:
- Click Hardware > Compute nodes.
- Select the compute node.
- Click the error: <number> or Warning <number>.
To check events in vCenter, do these steps:
- Start the vSphere web client.
- Select the compute node.
- Select Monitor > Tasks & Events.
- Select Tasks in the left column of the table.
- Sort on Start time.
- Find the date for the event.
- Look for the Disconnect or Connect status in the Task name column.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve the problem, do these steps:
- Click System > System settings.
- Select the External Application Access Settings section.
- Use an entry for compute nodes to get the compute node IPv4 and the credentials.
- SSH to the compute node <IPv4> and log in with the credentials.
- Check the status of agents or services with the following commands:
/etc/init.d/hostd status
/etc/init.d/vpxa status
/etc/init.d/vmware-fdm status - If the status of agents or services is not running, restart them with the following commands:
/etc/init.d/hostd restart
/etc/init.d/vpxa restart
/etc/inti.d/vmware-fdm restart
