How to create a Manual Step template for Test Script in IBM Engineering Test Management (ETM)

Objective

A test script contains manual steps that contain standard attributes like Description, Expected Results, and Attachments/Links.

It is possible to create custom attributes depending on user needs and reuse the template for other test scripts.

Steps

Here are the steps:

  1. Open the Manage Project Properties page in ETM
  2. Create a custom attribute for Manual Steps in the section Custom Attributes > Manual Step Attributes
  3. Open Manage Artifact Templates page
    1. Do a copy of Default manual test script template by clicking the Actions button > Copy Template
    2. In the Copy Template window, select the Manual Steps in the Selected Sections and click Edit
    3. The custom attribute is in the column Available Attributes
    4.  Add it in the Selected Attributes section

When you create a test script, it is possible to select the new template for the Creating using template field. 

The custom attribute for Manual Steps appears in each step of this test script.
