IBM Support

The console auto-refresh for settings do not work.

Troubleshooting

Problem

The console auto-refresh for settings do not work for the Web console as in earlier releases.

Symptom

Console Auto Refresh setting is not working in any setting

Setting the option to 10000 for the system default setting still refreshed the Web interface every 15 seconds. Console Auto Refresh set to manual also had no effect.

Cause

The customer is setting refresh rate in the GUI Console.

Environment

IBM Control Center 6.1.0.1

Diagnosing The Problem

Beginning with release 6.1.0.x the refresh rate for the Web Console is no longer controlled by the setting in the GUI Console.

Resolving The Problem

When you go into the Web Console click on "admin" in the upper left corner of the screen and select "System configuration", this will give a list of configuration files.

Click on the CCEngineService.xml, add the line:
<webConsoleRefreshInterval>90</webConsoleRefreshInterval>
replacing 90 with the refresh interval you desire in seconds. Next click the "Save" button in the lower right corner of the screen.

Once you have saved the changes to the file, recycle the engine for the change to take effect.
