Connections to a Denodo server throw a non-JRMP server at remote endpoint error

Troubleshooting


Problem

A connection from Cognos Analytics to a Denodo server returns a  non-JRMP server at remote endpoint error.

Symptom

Actions in Cognos Analytics including testing a connection fail to complete due to the exception being thrown.

Cause

Denodo is attempting to create an RMIFactory which is failing within the Java runtime environment.

Resolving The Problem

The correction published by Denodo requires Denodo 7.0 update 20200310 or higher.

Denodo requires a Denodo Administrator to enable the following property and restart the Denodo server.
SET 'com.denodo.vdb.vdbinterface.server.VDBManagerImpl.useSocketFactoryProvidedByServer'='true';
