Collecting Data: Operational Decision Manager Decision Warehouse

Question

You are having an issue in Decision Server (DS, previously called Rule Execution Server) when using the Decision Warehouse. You would like to know what documentation you must collect (MustGather) so that the IBM Operational Decision Manager Support team can diagnose your problem. If you gather this documentation before contacting support it will expedite the troubleshooting process, and save you time.

Answer

1. Version and fix pack level of ODM Decision Server used: in the Rule Execution Server Console, click "About" on the top-right of any page to see the console version and go to tab "Server Info" to see the version of the available eXecution Units (XUs).
For more details, see Find the version of ODM components.
2. The database vendor and version in use along with the driver version. 
3. The application server vendor and version you are using.

4. The exact issue you are facing in the Decision Warehouse, any error message, error prompt or unexpected behaviour you are seeing.
 
5. Check if ruleset execution monitoring is enabled and following ruleset properties are true
  • ruleset.bom.enabled
  • monitoring.enabled
  • ruleset.sequential.trace.enabled if the ruleset contains tasks that use the sequential or the Fastpath execution mode
6. Is there any customization applied to the Decision Warehouse (additional datasource added, monitoring filters applied)?
If problem still persists, please continue to the following steps to gather more debug information.
 
7. Turn on debug information for the Decision Warehouse following "Obtaining debug information during Decision Warehouse trace capture" and enable full trace for  logger: ilog.rules.support.debugtrace.DebugTraceDAO =ALL on the servers where Rule Execution Server is deployed.

8. Re-run the ruleset that is not available or causing issues on the Decision Warehouse.
 
Send all the information, the full applications server logs and traces as attachments to ODM Technical Support team.
