Abstract

CL_HACMP (Doc Number=4621): High Impact / Highly Pervasive APAR IV80637 IV80637 - rootvg loss is not detected
PowerHA fails to panic a node when there is a loss of rootvg.
When there is failed I/O to a vg, disk down and vg down
events are not generated.
This only affects PowerHA running on AIX 7.1 TL4 and AIX 7.2.
With PowerHA 7.2, rootvg is marked as a Critical VG by
default, which will correctly cause the node to panic,
despite this defect.
With PowerHA 7.1 and 6.1, rootvg can be changed
to a Critical VG by running 'chvg -r Y rootvg'.
This will correctly cause the node to panic, despite this defect.
This feature is available on AIX 7.1 TL4 and AIX 7.2 and newer.
