Abstract
Effective with the next major version and later updates to that version of IBM® Rational ClearCase, the product no longer supports certain operating system versions, and product components. Platform and product component support in older releases is not affected by this statement.

Rational ClearCase platform support aims to align as closely as possible with vendor support dates. That support can vary from this strategy due to critical customer needs for building and deploying their own applications, limited adoption by the marketplace, the availability of security fixes, or for other reasons.
Regarding support for client user interfaces, Rational ClearCase is focused on continued first-class support for a single client GUI, ClearTeam Explorer, and the command line interfaces cleartool and rcleartool.
Older interfaces might not be enhanced to support new product features and might over time be deprecated and removed from support. It is our intent that such deprecation occurs only in a major release and with at least three months advance notice; and in some cases, only when newer interfaces achieve sufficient parity with older interfaces to justify the deprecation.
When an issue is caused by a version of an operating system, filer, IDE, or other technology that is no longer supported by the vendor on the date of release of any major version of ClearCase®, IBM Rational might ask customers to upgrade the version of the operating system, filer, IDE or other technology to resolve the issue.
