CHKENVRCY command
In order to have an efficient and effective high availability environment, files need to be journaled, and those journal options need to be set properly.
This command will check the system, and create files in the specified library that contain results of the following:
- Files whose access path maintenance are not set to *IMMED
- Libraries not being journaled, or with journal settings not allowing new objects to be journaled
- Files whose access path recovery is not set to *AFTIPL
- Files not being journaled
- Journals whose receivers are not being managed by the system
- Files that do not omit open and close transactions
Parameters
LIBRARY - Name of the library to store the results files
IASP - Name of the IASP to scan, or *SYSBAS
LIBANALYZE - Name(s) of up to 10 libraries to scan for the results, or *ALL for all libraries
Results Files
APMAINT - Files with Access Path Maintenance not set to *IMMED (the recommended setting is *IMMED)
LIBJRNSTS - Libraries not journaled, or journal settings that prevent new files from inheriting the correct journaling capabilities
NEAFTERIPL - Files with Access Path Recovery not set to *AFTIPL (the recommended setting is *AFTIPL)
NOTJRN - Files not currently being journaled
NOTMANAGED - Journals whose receivers are not system-managed (the recommendation is to have them system-managed)
OPNCLS - Files that do not omit open and close transactions (the recommended setting is *BOTH)
