What are the @@ characters displayed in the IBM Rational ClearTeam Explorer and IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client user interface and can they be disabled?

@@ characters are displayed in the ClearTeam Explorer and ClearCase Remote Client user interfaces and users would like to know their purpose and if they can be disabled.

Answer

When a user enables one of the "Text Decorations" preference such as in Window>Preferences>IBM Rational ClearTeam Explorer,




@@ are displayed in the user interface as text decorations to indicate objects under IBM Rational ClearCase source control:








The @@ characters are only used in the visual user interface and not on the objects in the VOB or on the local copy area or view of the client.

Users who wish to disable the display of the @@ characters, should set the preference to Icon Decorations (default).
