Cannot synchronize, delete or update users in the MAS Administration

Troubleshooting


Problem

In Maximo Application Suite, in Users/View User you might experience a synchronization error:
Sync status:
Your updates were not saved due to a system timeout.
Retry the action. If the issue persists, contact IBM Support.
In the Application access section you see the error:
Required entitlement: Access dependent
Reason: AIUI1101E: Internal user agent error.
Details: [main xxx] synched: status_code:
400 r.text Error 400: BMXAA3847E - The selected person is already assigned to another user.

Resolving The Problem

This error happens because you probably already have a person record with the same name as the MAS user in Manage associated with the user record in the Users application in Manage.

In order to double check you can search for the value from the username field in the Users application within Manage in the Users application, and you need to make sure that not only the user name but also the person name is different than the record you were trying to synchronize in MAS Administration.

You should associate the user record with a new person ID, in the Change Person dialog, and save user record.
This way the User synchronization in MAS Administration will not fail.
