Troubleshooting
Problem
When you run "show unit type" in the CLI you see that the unit is of type ztap. However the unit is not monitoring a z/OS database so you want to change it to stap. When trying to change the unit type you see the error "The current license does not permit this unit to use the Stap feature".
Diagnosing The Problem
The following is returned from the CLI comand
show unit type
Managed Netinsp ztap
delete unit type mainframe
Resolving The Problem
Run the following commands in the CLI unless otherwise stated
1. show license ( and take a copy of the collector license key. )
2. Un-register the collector from the central manager in the collector
- GUI ->Administration Console -> Central Management ->Registration
3. delete unit type mainframe
4. store license console ( and paste in the license key from 1 above again. )
5. Re-register the collector with the central manager in the GUI as per above 2 above
