Question & Answer
Question
The Maximo Application Suite sizing calculator indicates the lowest possible minimum for running Maximo Application Suite is 8 CPUs per worker node. However, is it possible to instead use smaller worker nodes, and scale the total number of worker nodes accordingly? For example, using 4 CPUs per worker node.
Answer
While a configuration like this is theoretically possible for an OpenShift cluster, we strongly recommend against using such a cluster to deploy Maximo Application Suite. Using 4 CPUs per worker node with Maximo Application Suite would too easily cause the nodes to become overloaded and result in a barely functional environment.
If infrastructure costs are a concern, we instead recommend our Single Node Openshift (SNO) option for deploying Maximo Application Suite. For more information, please refer to our documentation for SNO installations (see Related Information).
