In which class file this validation is being handled to override the method as per users need ?
Cause
The following steps have been used to reproduce the problem:
1. Login in as MAXADMIN --> Click on User Profile --> Make sure it's set to BEDFORD
2. Go To Self Service --> Desktop Requisition --> Create Requisition
3. In Requested by field - Change MAXADMIN to JITAM (John Itam) which has MCLEAN site
The following error message is displayed: BMXAA0234E - Not a valid site
The expectation is that user wants to select any site, it shouldn't be restricted to default profile site.
Answer
This is working as designed and it always been restricted to user's default profile. However the class file generating this error: ( BMXAA0234E - Not a valid site.) is psdi.webclient.beans.desktopreq.DesktopReqAppBean, and the method is returnLookupValue(MboRemote). This method in this class was designed specifically to prevent cross-site lookups in the MR application.
Please note any further issues raised following to the changes made in the java class DesktopReqAppBean and overwriting the method returnLookupValue(MboRemote) will not be supported by IBM Maximo Support.
