IBM Support

Avoiding partial quantity allocation for bundle component during chained orders

Question & Answer

Question

How do you procure inventory for bundle component(Ship Together Bundle) in the same ratio as kit quantity in IBM Sterling Order Management?

Cause

Ship together constraint is not considered when component Item is procured/moved within organizations.

Answer

This is not possible with out of the box configurations.

For Ship Together Bundle, the component item is shipped together to customer. It ensures that bundle component is shipped in multiple of kit quantity(number of units of component per bundle). However this , ship together, constraint is only for shipping to customer and this is not considered when component Item is procured/moved within organizations(between different shipnodes/stores) using chained orders.

The rule for procurement is procure as little as possible and only procure what is needed. Product does not procure in the ratio of kit quantity.
