Auditing Use of Commands

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document explains how to audit the use of commands.

Resolving The Problem

This document explains how to audit the use of commands.

Set up object auditing with the Change Object Auditing (CHGOBJAUD) command for each specific command that needs auditing, and specify auditing level *ALL. Then, set system value QAUDCTL to *OBJAUD. The security audit journal (QAUDJRN) must exist, and there should be a journal receiver attached. To get the output, use the Display Audit Journal Entries (DSPAUDJRNE) command for an entry type of CD or use the Display Journal (DSPJRN) command if the content is wanted in an output file.
