Are alerts stored in the control center database

Question & Answer

Question

Are alerts stored in the control center database, and if so which table and how long do the records remain in the table(s)?

Answer

Yes, the events are stored in the database. Portions on the data are stored in multiple tables such as Events, Event Comments, CD Stats Log, CE Stats Log to name a few. They are retained based on the IBM Control Center>System Settings Database tab's Data Older Than (days) field. If you are using partitioning in your database the partitions are dropped based on the same setting and if you are not using partitioning they will be purged based on that setting.

There is also a setting for automatically handle of alerts older than (hours) setting.
