  New function is provided in z/VM Performance Toolkit to
  integrate z/VM performance data in an existing Splunk
  observability platform to populate real-time dashboards and
  generate reports.
  
  For customers who prefer an open-source solution, data can be
  sent to the InfluxDB time-series database where performance data
  from different sources can be retained and visualized using
  Grafana real-time dashboards. Sample dashboards for Grafana are
  available. Customers who wish to deploy InfluxDB and Grafana in
  a Linux guest on z/VM can use the container images available in
  the IBM Z Container Registry.

• To use the z/VM Performance Data Pump, a new DATAPUMP service
  virtual machine must be defined to connect to the *MONITOR CP
  System Service and collect performance data. A TCP/IP connection
  is used to send the data to the Splunk or InfluxDB service
  defined in the Data Pump configuration file.  When running a
  Single System Image (SSI) cluster, the DATAPUMP service virtual
  machine runs in each member of the cluster to collect data from
  that member. Tooling is provided to simplify management of the
  configuration files in such a configuration.
  
  Ideally, all z/VM systems will send performance data to a single
  Splunk or InfluxDB service. This allows enterprise-wide
  aggregation of performance data and monitoring of multiple z/VM
  systems in a single dashboard.
  
  For a secure connection between the Data Pump and Splunk or
  InfluxDB, z/VM System SSL is used. This leverages the existing
  SSL configuration to comply with company security policy.
  
  Appendix I is added to "z/VM: Performance" (SC24-6301-73).
  The "z/VM: Other Components Messages and Codes" publication
  (GC24-6300-73) is updated to include the Data Pump messages.
  HELP files are also provided for Data Pump configuration and
  messages.
