• An ABENDLCK001 can occur when issuing a SHUTDOWN command for an
  SSI member system.

  An ABENDLCK001 can occur in some cases when a
  CP SHUTDOWN command is issued.
  .
  There are two situations in which this can occur.
  .
  The first situation occurs when CP is dispatched on the
  SYSTEM VMDBK during SHUTDOWN processing, but HCPPLM
  generally runs on the SYSTEMMP VMDBK.  The
  ABENDLCK001 occurs because a lock is being released
  by SYSTEM but is held by SYSTEMMP.
  .
  The second situation occurs when HCPPLM checks fields in a
  synchronization message area without checking first to see
  if a message actually exists.
  

Problem conclusion

• For the first situation, HCPPLM has been changed to switch
  to SYSTEMMP during SHUTDOWN processing and back to the caller
  before returning to HCPWRP.

  For the second situation, HCPPLM has been changed to ensure
  that a synchronization message exists before referring to it.
