Error description

• The following error message was received during DASD
  maintenance:
  HCPSVI6431E An Extent Space Efficient pool event has occurred
  for device xxxx.  The pool has reached the current warning
  level.
  .
  The messages can be ignored if devices aren'tspace efficient.

  The various versions of message HCP6431I can be issued for
  devices which are not actually Extent Space Efficient (ESE)
  capable.  In these cases, the messages should not be issued
  since the ESE event does not actually apply to non-ESE
  devices.
  

Problem conclusion

• A check was added to ensure the device receiving the extent
  space efficient (ESE) event is actually an ESE device before
  the informational messages are issued to the OPERATOR.
